With advancements in stem cell technology, gene therapies, and artificial intelligence to name a few, humanity’s quest of eternal life seems now to only be a question of “when?”

But is this scenario as idyllic as it initially sounds? What would the implications of immortality be? Ultimately, would the value of life itself be lost?

Transhumanism (the philosophical movement for the enhancement of the human condition) aims to answer these questions.
